Firewood for Evelyn
October 12, 2009
Evelyn is a neighbor of Cedarcreek regulars Randy and Karen.  She lives in a 50 year old cabin on a 10 acre parcel of land up in the hills above Ravensdale.  The only source of heat in her home is a wood burning stove.  Randy and Karen offered “grunt labor” from our church to cut, split and pile firewood harvested from her acreage for the coming winter months.  On Saturday, October 10th, 20 volunteers from Cedarcreek showed up to help!  By the end of the day we had amassed a pile of firewood that measured 10 feet high by 30 feet around.  Evelyn showed up the next day at our Sunday morning worship service in order to express her appreciation for our efforts.  Way to go church!

Back to School Family Night A Big Hit Once Again!
Septeber 20, 2009
On Friday night, September 11, Cedarcreek Covenant Church hosted its annual “Back To School Family Night” at Glacier Park Elementary School.  This TOTALLY FREE event was visited by 250+ guests from our community.  We had great weather, delicious food, fun activities and live entertainment from The Noise Guy to top it all off!  Thank you to all who served and all who attended.  We hope to continue hosting events like this to connect with our neighbors here in Maple Valley.

 Life Change
June 15, 2009
Cedarcreek Covenant Church enjoys celebrating life-change.  During our worship service on Sunday, May 17th, Justina Brown, Cassie Carroll, AJ Lopeman and Brendan Maloney each shared the story of how Jesus has changed their lives.  Following their testimony, each was baptized in a portable hot tub set up, front and center, in the Glacier Park Elementary School Gym.  Thank you, students, for sharing this important step in your faith journey with us.  Our faith in Christ was built-up through your words and by your actions!

Local Churches Make a Difference in our Community
April 26, 2009
In late March, over 160 volunteers from 14 different area churches descended on the Ravensdale Trailer Park in order to give the property and more importantly, the residents some much needed T.L.C. in Jesus’ name.  Cedarcreek Covenant Church was directly involved!  On Saturday, March 28th, expert dump truck driver, Philip “Incredible Hulk” Waite and precision backhoe operator Don “Mighty Mouse” Bowers spent the day picking up and dumping over 6 tons of trash.  On Monday, March 30th, Philip and Don were joined by Steve Klein, Ken McNabb, Phil Robinson, Pastoral Intern Sarah Robinson and Pastor Kenton Johnson for a road paving party.  One of the residents named Kim provided fresh coffee and hot cocoa as we took a break from spreading, raking and rolling the 118 tons of recycled asphalt on the two main drags of the trailer park.  In addition, several personal parking slots were paved for the residents with the extra material.  Way to go Cedarcreek!
